Festival In Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh
Ugadi, the Telugu and Kannada New Year, believed to be the day Brahma created the universe, is celebrated, ushering in new hopes and aspirations. The festival is marked with the blooming of mango buds, a ceremonial oil bath at the break of day, followed by the Ugadi Puja, where astrological predictions for the year are made. The delicacy for the day is pachadi, pachadi (Telugu) and the combination of bevu bella (Kannada) (jaggery plus neem), amazing festive food that combines all flavours - sweet, sour, salty, bitter. These flavours denote how one must expect all flavours throughout the year and make the most of their experiences.
Festival In Tamil Nadu
The festival name Pongal means “boiling over” or “overflow” in Tamil. Pongal is also the name of a delicious sweetened dish of rice boiled in milk and jaggery that people in Tamil Nadu consume ritually during Makar Sankranti. The Tamilian diaspora would buy new clothes and other items and exchange gifts with friends and family all over the world. Decoration of houses would include the use of banana and mango leaves. The four days of celebration of Pongal in Tamil Nadu see several ritualistic practices, some with religious significance and others merely for fun.
We believe that one should celebrate their festival looking the best. Here are our New Year 2022 Collection that you can shop from.
